Otto

Winery: Oxer Bastegieta
Region: Rioja

Rose Wine

60% Tempranillo, 10% Garnacha Tinta, 10% Graciano, 10% Viura, 10% mazuelo.

Vineyards:

The grapes are sourced from very old vineyards in Rioja Alavesa, situated at an altitude of 600 meters. The vineyards are planted on clay-limestone soils with low yields of around 3,000 kg per hectare, which contribute to the wine’s exceptional concentration and character.

Winemaking:

Fermentation occurs with native yeasts in traditional foudres, followed by a period of aging in used 500-litre French oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation takes place in these barrels, where the wine matures for 10 months, gaining complexity and depth.

What’s in a Name:

Otto is inspired by the concept of a "dancing Nietzsche," representing a wine that defies simple classification. Neither fully white nor red, neither masculine nor feminine, Otto is a playful, yet serious, interpretation of a rosé with a captivating color and personality.
