Priorat
Celler Bartolomé

The Bartolomé-Vernet family vines are located where the Siurana and Montsant rivers merge on their way to the Ebro. They own three plots: Mas de Caldera, El Grinyó and Els Molins, all of them epitomizing the looks of Priorat, with its sharply sloped landscape. Each terrace is a haven of piece and quiet, where twisted, age-old vines emerge amongst sheets of slate, patiently awaiting the instructions given out by Mother Nature. Some of the Samsó (Cariñena) vines owned by the family go back over a century ago. Their Garnatxa was planted at the bottom of the valley in the seventies. After decades of making wine, the family started bottling it under their own name in 1997.
