Created in 1989, Bodegas Zudugarai is the winery of the Errasti family. Their plots are located less than 20 miles away from one of the culinary capitals of the world, San Sebastián. The climate here is rainy and way colder than in the rest of Spain, producing wines with laser-like acidity and lower alcohol akin to the whites from Vinho Verde or Muscadet Sevre et Maine. The Errasti brothers (Vicente, Jose Mari and Patxi) own 2 hectares of vineyards near the sea, planted in the sunny side of a rolling hill between 10 and 40 years ago. The combination of sun and wind offers natural protection from rot and fungal diseases. The wine is fermented in stainless steel with native yeast, keeping some residual CO2 in the bottle in order to create an extra-vibrant, quintessential expression of the Basque terroir.
