Casa Los Frailes

 

Casa Los Frailes is located in the depth bottom of the so-called Sub-Betic range of mountains. This area has an old geologic record from the secondary, tertiary and quaternary periods.n the formation of the soil, we can find marine sediments, conglomerates, multicolour clay soils, erosion and limestone continental stones. Mountains sorrounding Casa Los Frailes are Dolomites (made of Dolomias) with its sharp and rich shapes. Such shapes and relieves allowed erosion sedimenting and spreading out elements transported by water such as magnesium, iron, clay and limestone, above all of them.

 
 

Los Frailes

100 % Monastrell elaborated in concrete vats.

Manually harvested from the bush vines and goes through maceration process over the lees with soft battonages. Malolactic fermentation as well as the ageing is done in ancient concrete vats used by the Friars centuries ago. Aged for 6 months in old cement vats.

 
 

Dolomitas

100 % Monastrell from vineyard called “Dolomitas”.

The harvest is manual. The work at the winery is limited to a minimum: wild yeasts, light battonages, minimum amount of sulphites and light filtration. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in old concrete deposits from the c. XVIII where the friars used to elaborate wine. Aging the wine for 10 months in old concrete deposits and anfors.
